Volunteer to Learn

Thursdays from 11 am - 2 pm

VOLUNTEER TO LEARN with Bastrop Botanical Gardens on Thursdays from 11am-2pm for a hands-on education in Organic Gardening, Permaculture, Moon Gardening and much, much more. Learning the Vocational Way.

Every Thursday from 11am-2pm there is an Opportunity to Learn a timely aspect of the many areas of Organic Gardening. Everything from small scale farming to Herbs to native plants to soils to pollinator gardens will be shared with Volunteers. Each week there is a topic to learn with a hands-on application of the information given. All Volunteers are given a plant for their participation.

Third Thursdays are for Fungal Fun in the VOLUNTEER TO LEARN program. On the third Thursday of each month we will work projects with recycled Mushroom Mycelium blocks. Anything from feeding Hugelkulture Swails to how to build soils may be covered. Join us any Third Thursday as we cultivate the soil with Mushroom Mycelium Blocks. 🍄

If you are looking for a VOLUNTEER TO LEARN Opportunity, like Organic Gardening, learning about Permaculture, Herbs, or interested in Moon Gardening, this is a Great Opportunity.

Join us on Thursdays from 11am-2pm for the Bastrop Botanical Gardens VOLUNTEER TO LEARN program. We are a hands-on program, Guaranteed to Get You Dirty, so please dress accordingly and bring water.

Gardening by the Moon

Join us on Volunteer to Learn Thursday this Thursday (9/19) as we share lessons on Moon Gardening and Gardening by the Moon. Two very different aspects of working with the Energy of the Moon as it pertains to Gardening.

Gardening by the Moon Cycles gives valuable information on Nature. The cycle of the Moon plays heavily in Nature. For example, the ocean tides, themselves, are governed by the Moon. If ya'll are interested in learning more, leave a comment below.

Bastrop Botanical Gardens finds her schedule by the Moon. We plant on fruitful days (water signs), we prune and shape on semi-fruitful days (most Earth signs and Libra) and we weed, hardscape, do chores on Barren days (Air signs (except Libra) and Fire Signs). The most Fruitful signs being Water signs with the most Barren signs being Fire signs.

Join us on Thursdays, from 11am-2pm for our Volunteer to Learn program at Bastrop Botanical Gardens. This week we work with the different ways to Garden by the Moon. Join us, won't you?
